Process and Challenges
In Return to Rapture, I wanted to play around with alternate timelines converging and how I could blend different levels together. Using level streaming, I merged the France and Rapture levels together through a "tear in reality" that the player stumbles upon after finding signs of Rapture bleeding into their world.
Difficulties in creating this level were from finding a good balance between early exploration and guiding the player into Rapture with the heavy combat focus later in the level.
